Jaden and Kai

Kai loves to hold his baby sister!

Every morning the kids fight over who gets to hold her first! I try to keep track of whose turn it is to hold her. This morning it was Kai's turn first.

She looks at him with such wonder in her eyes! She must know how much he loves her! She must feel how much he cares for her, and feel safe in his arms.

He has promised her that if anyone

is ever mean to her they will

have to answer to him. :)

He puts his finger under her chin as if to tickle her,

and she just looks up at him with those big blue eyes...

and he is the one to giggle with delight.

He really wanted a brother, but instead he got

the cutest little sister! We named her Jaden

because that's his middle name!
And the meaning fit: answered prayer.

Greenfield Village

This was our first real outing after Jaden was born, we figured it was a lovely day to visit our favorite place, Greenfield Village.

The kids were excited, but as soon as we got in the gates, we heard Jaden making noises, and it wasn't good. She was very fussy! Thinking she was unhappy in her stroller for her first ride, I picked her up and carried her. Two seconds later it happened.

And by IT, I mean the event we termed the 9 wiper. Her first major poopy diaper... and I mean MAJOR!!!

So we got her all cleaned up and we got on our way. We had decided before heading out for the day that we were only going to spend about an hour walking around. We were going to get ice cream first, then walk the loop once , then head to Buddy's pizza for dinner.

Jaden wanted to be fed every 15 minutes so it took us about an hour to make it around the "neighborhood". We decided that it was time to go, but of course had to take pictures in front of the windmill. Silly kids! Gotta love em.

Jaden's 2nd week

What a cutie! She is so aware, looking at us with those big blue eyes!

So curious, it seems like she's examining your soul! She smiles and her eyes just light up. I am amazed by how strong she is, holding her head up from the very start.

When she falls asleep in my arms, I just sit there in wonder of her. This is what was kicking me with such ferociousness...

This is the life
we created...

I stare at her, taking in her perfection...

and I am so full of love!

Kai's 8th Birthday!

We had a great party to celebrate Kai turning 8, a great excuse to show off our new lil cutsie, Jaden. We had great food, a yummy cake, and a fun Easter egg hunt. Also the kids beat up a fun pinata (or kinyata, as Kai pronounced it) and ate lots of candy. It was so nice to see everyone and we all had a great time

we just brought her home, and we introduced her to the dogs. She couldn't have cared less!

Jaden's Birth

On April 4th, 2009, after over 31 hours of labor, we welcomed Jaden Anne Hayman to our family! What a gorgeous amazing baby!
